Getting a SSD mounting kit in the United Kingdom for an "Aspire VX5-591G" Laptop.

Hello all.

To be perfectly blunt, I am having no luck with getting an SSD mounting kit for my laptop even after following instructions from ACER support. Here's what Acer support said:

"please contact our spares department on 03300581711, they should be able to help you."

So I did as support advised. Later, the "spares" department personnel told me that my SNID does not come up on their systems and later I was asked to give the model number of my laptop which I was told was "VX5-591G". At this point, I was told that there were no parts available here. The guy then asked me if I bought the laptop here in the UK. I told the guy that I bought the laptop overseas (in Malaysia) at a legit shop (I even have the product registered on ACER's website) but still no luck.

This is starting to feel like its more trouble than its worth. I don't think the laptop model differs from country to country so why on Earth do they not have the parts i am looking for?

Sorry about the rant. Any suggestions would be helpful.

These kits are hard to obtain outside of US/Canada. For non-North American users, it is a great source of frustration.
Here is a thread about the components. Have a look at the the instructions.
You could purchase the cable for £5.86. Use a paper template first; then the caddy can be fashioned out of 2 pieces of roof flashing. See image of the 2 side supports below (from Amazon UK offering). Purchase the 8 screws at a hardware store.

As one Forum member in the Ukraine has noted, gathering the kit components is like a treasure hunt.  His Acer Center located the caddy & the cable, but not the 8 screws.  At this point he was ready to spit nails, because the 2 items were very expensive.  He ended up using electrical tape to secure the HDD to the caddy & taping the caddy/HDD module to the bay.  He monitored the temperature & wrote that it was not a problem.
Unfortunately the Acer kits are unavailable outside of North America.
I would suggest you purchase only the Acer cable (£5.86).  It would not be very difficult to make 2 U-shaped brackets from roof flashing to run along both lengths of the SDD, (from right to left in the image on the right).  Using a tin snip make 2 parallel cuts & fold back with pliers for the mounting areas closest to the cable connection. Create the screw holes with a drill.
If you are not very handy, run electrical tape along both widths of the SDD, (from top to bottom in the image on the right), avoiding the motherboard & the cable connection.  Apply screws through the electrical tape to the screw holes below.

I've got a follow up question.

Would you happen to know any local sellers or some place that sells all these parts as a bundle?

These things are pricy enough with deliveries + tax.

Its my first time attempting this and I am pretty much stumped with how dificult it is to get such simple parts.

Hey Wis. Thanks for responding again.

I'll set out to do what you advise. Hopefully the screws wont be too hard to fine but nice to know electrical tape works just as fine albeit its a little shoddy haha.
