Hi all, new user here, and also new to graphics cards.  I bought my Acer Aspire TC-605 about 3 years ago and i'm looking to upgrade the graphics card for gaming and general use.  I've been looking around for a bit now and it seems like the GeForce GTX 1030 is a good buy, so i'm interested in picking one up (most likely on Cyber Monday if i find better deals).  Everywhere i've looked it seems like the ZOTAC and EVGA are some of the highest in positive reviews.  Does anyone know if these will fit in my TC-605?  Sorry for the noob question, but i truly am completely new to adding these to PC's.

    Hi BMC_MT,
The best graphics cards to go with your computer are. These are all NVIDIA
    GeForce GTX 1050
    GeForce GTX 1050ti
    GeForce GTX 1060
    GeForce GTX 1070
    GeForce GTX 1080
    GeForce GTX 1080ti .

Note:Make sure that the card will fit in your case. Some of the bigger cards take up 2 slots and are longer so make sure that the card length is compatible with your case.

Thanks for the reply Kamalika!  So im guessing the 1030 wouldn't work?  I can splurge a bit and get a 1050 lol, but if i kept it under $100 i'd be in the clear from the boss lady lol

I have a 1050 in my tc605-ur13 and love that I do not need to add any additional power. I am looking to upgrade the processor now to unleash the full potential of the GPU though as I am getting a little bottlenecking there. also now going to do a RAM upgrade first to see how that goes.

    Hello,
I have the same issue and in a store they told me that GTX 1030 LP 2GB is the best my computer can handle.
LP is for Low Profile, it seems that xc-605 has very small space so "normal graphic cards don't fit.
Besides, the store told me that stronger GPU wont work due to power supply.
I am trying to find out if there is a better solution, someone told me that a SSD disc will boost performance, but I don't know much about these things.
I will follow this subject to learn more and decide what is the best solution.

Intel i7, 8GB RAM, Win10, AMD Radeon HD 7000 series
    Best Regards

Henrique, they probably just didn't want to go through the hassle of finding a newer low profile card. Pretty much all of the new GPU chipset have cards released in the low profile form factor. They are right in the power issue though, the XC-605 came with a 220W supply and you'll likely want a 300-500W if you put a fairly new GPU in. You might also have to deal with card thickness, your slot is close to the side of the case. I don't think you can fit a two slot card in, but it looks like a slot and a half might work. The power supply is a bit of a funny form factor, ATX style connectors but a longer, thinner profile. I believe there are third party supplies that match, but I don't have a list. You'll want to measure yours and look closely at the mounting arrangement. Your SKU is one of the best versions of the XC-605. The biggest bang for your buck performance-wise is going to be replacing the existing HDD with a SSD, all those slow seek times drop to essentially nothing. It makes a huge improvement for all OS operations, but not as much for graphics.

A quick Google tells me your power supply may be a MINI ITXform factor. If that's the case you can get them quite a bit more powerful. :) If it doesn't fit then potentially you could go with a new case, that would remove most of the restrictions.
