Aspire E5-576G locks up every time the screen shuts off, internal or external
Hi, I got a new Aspire E5-576 G laptop on Tuesday - the laptop is speedy and fast.
One annoying issue - the laptop freezes if power is turned off to an external monitor, OR if I close the lid to the laptop. I first noticed this on my external monitor - using an HDMI connection. If I powered the monitor off, without the laptop lid open, the computer would lock up and necessitate a hard reboot (power button held down for 4 seconds).
I thought it an HDMI issue of some sort - then I realized it happens with the built in LCD display, without even having the HDMI connected.
I have the laptop set to NOT go to sleep with lid shut when on AC power. But if I shut the lid the computer freezes and requires a hard start. And again, that's without the HDMI connector hooked up - so it's not an HDMI issue.
I've had laptops for 20 years now, and get a new work laptop every 3 years -so I've lots of experience with laptops and this is the first time I've run into this issue. Help would be most appreciated.
