I have noticed the matt screen on my laptop often shows colors with a dithered pattern which is not great - most obvious on gray colors.
Either the color representation is not accurate or the matt coating causes this appearance.
Windows says it is an 8bit [per color] display, is it really?

Part # KL.17308.003. Check msinfo32 display component. Probably 32bits per pixel or 8 bits per each red, green, blue, clear element  Jack E/NJ

    Hmm 32bits/pixel
    ********** color table entries
I guess it is the matt finish that gives it a dithered/rougher look - always a down side I guess
