hi all

i have an es1-531

ever sinde I purchased it I’ve had none stop issues I took it back to acer and they replaced it. This is my 3rd machine believe it or not it’s been replaced twice. It’s so slow. Whenever I click on anything wheather it’s a folder it freezes and says not responding or it goes to a black screen. I have no programs on it besides iTunes and avast. I’ve reset it 100 times literally and still no luck. What can I do?ive lost all patience and it’s so frustrating. I’ve even started using ready boost and it doesn’t help.

  • Make sure the disk is at 100% in the task manager! Generally this is cause of slowness and this problem is not the fault of Acer, but of microsoft:

    Possible fixes. Skip Fix #2, #6 & #8.
Avast is a good antivirus program, but you don't need 2, which really makes your device crawl. Windows Defender had been pre-installed. It works well, so uninstall Avast.
Run Disk Cleanup & Disk Defragmenter on a regular basis.
Create a system image, then proceed to uninstall the bloatware that came with your machine. If you inadvertently delete an essential program, use the system image to restore your device.
After eliminating the bloatware, see video below about accelerating Startup. Be certain to check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box before deleting in Startup. Note that you are not deleting the programs themselves, merely preventing the programs from loading when you start Windows.
