    Hi,
Yes, it is compatible with your laptop, you can transfer your HDD contents including OS to it and use as boot drive, you can use the HDD for storage.

Is it compatible with NVME and PCIE also or only SATA

    Hi,
You have to install HWiNFO64 free program, run it, expand Bus, expand PCI Bus, highlight all PCI Express Root Ports and check their Maximum link width individually in the right pane, if you find one of them with value of 2x, then you can install NVMe SSD, for more information please read this thread:https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/497241/acer-aspire-e5-575-52jf-m-2-nvme-support/p1

Good explanation of different keys & lists your device requiring 2280 SATA III (M key) in this webpage.  If you click on your model, it gives SSD capacity as 256 gb.

    Hi,
You have one HDD bay and a slot for M.2 SSD, you can install a M.2 SATA SSD and use it as boot drive, use the HDD(spinner drive) for storage. If you are interested in a M.2 NVMe SSD, then install HWiNFO64 free program and check the Maximum link width of the PCI Express Root Ports as described in the link I posted earlier.
