Hi is there a way of cloning an M.2 SSD to retain your existing windows install or do you have re-install windows using their windows 10 media creation tool?

    Hi,
    If you provide the current setup details, it's easier to suggest a suitable solution, do you have a M.2 SSD currently OS on it? Do you have a HDD as well in your laptop/PC? What's the model of your PC/laptop?
  • The current notebooks come with a hidden recovery partition from Acer so that the user can reinstall windows! No need to install an iso from microsoft! Now answering your question, you can clone to an hd using the migrate function of the minitool partition! This program is recommended when ssd has a smaller space than hd!
    Now cloning a ssd with larger space for an hd with smaller space is a bit harder, but you can use the macrium reflect program!
    If your notebook does not have an internal hd, you can use an external hd!

    Hi,
    Transfer the contents of HDD to an external HDD, then you can download and install Minitool partition wizard free program, use migrate feature to transfer the whole contents of current 128GB M.2 SSD to the HDD, then install your new M.2 SSD, boot with the HDD, run Minitool Partition wizard, use Migrate feature to transfer the contents of HDD to the new M.2 SSD.
    In short, current M.2 SSD-> HDD-> new M.2 SSD.
