Forgive me if this is a stupid question......I'm not a techie.......I'm about to shoot some HD footage on a camcorder. The material will be stored in the camera on an SD card. I have loaded some video editing software onto my Helios 300, and I know that I can capture the footage directly into that software from my camcorder, but if I took the SD card out of the camera and inserted it into the Helios 300 SD card slot, would that be a better option? Does the 300 have pre loaded software to accept the data on the sd card from my camcorder? Thanks.

In general you would receive Micro USB to USB cable for the camcorder. You can simply connect it to the device and i believe you would also receive a disc with the camcorder. All you have to do is install the software. this would help you to edit your photos or videos ( depends upon the software provided for camcorder ). In the file explorer the device would be recognized with which you can check your photos and videos.

As an alternative you can also remove the SD card and connect it directly to the unit.

Pull SD card out of camcorder, and put into the SD card slot in the laptop.
