Recently i purchased a Predator XB241H gaming monitor which is capable of running 144hrz or 180hrz o/c however, the monitor is limited to a display port 1.2 and a hdmi 1.4 so there in lies the question. My Helios 300 laptop has a hdmi 2.0 output but no display port so the only way i can reach 144hrz on my monitor from the laptop is by running the hdmi 2.0 through an adapter to the display port 1.2 right? I've scanned and scanned and i cant seem to find a hdmi to dp adapter of the right compatibility.

I'd like to be sure if the 144hrz transfer is even possible through this setup, in addition to that i need to find a compatible adapter.

any help is appreciated thanks

HDMI doesn't upscale for Display Port.

You can only downscale when converting DP to HDMI.

Did you try connecting your monitor HDMI to the laptop HDMI directly? What was the max frequency you could achieve this way?

That's the current way i have them connected but even if i alter the resolution the max refresh rate is still only 60hrz.

Connect external display, and turn it to projector only mode using Fn + F5 and see if that helps.
