Recover data from Predator RAID 0 M.2 SSDs

My Predator laptop has died.   I would like to pull files off of the M.2 boot drive while I try to get it repaired. It's easy to access the M.2 drives, but this laptop ( a GX-792) has the main drive as a PAIR of M.2 drives in RAID 0.

I could try to find another similar Predator laptop and swap the M.2s.. that would obviously work,  but finding a loaner Predator is not easy. So I want to use my desktop machines to read my data.

Once I pull the drives out, I'll have the two M.2 drives in hand. What's the best strategy to read data from them? The RAID 0 configuration makes this tricky.  I have other (desktop) machines I could plug them into but would they understand the Acer RAID 0 format or is it proprietary?

    xapim, thanks for the link!
I have a desktop which already has two free M.2 slots.. I'm concerned with the disk formats and mounting.

That said, I like that M.2 host card you found.. it'd be great for a desktop system which had only 1 (or no) M.2 drives. Or for copying/backing up extra M.2 drives. Thanks!

The dual M.2 drives in the G9-792 are just SATA drives, not NVME, so they will indeed be readable with this adapter, or likely many of the other ones online.  High performance NVME drives would have been trickier.

This also explains why Acer is using RAID-0.. it lets them use slower SATA drives and the RAID 0 helps makes up for the lower performance... not a bad compromise, but it causes these problems like mine where RAID 0 sucks when you have a failure with the host since you can't pull data off of the (undamaged) drives easily.

Hope u manage to get it sorted with the adapter (the adapter should work fine as it wont require software for raid, has its own host jumpers in the pcb to setup for raid 0 etc) or any other way :)
