i know it is old.  it booted before now all i get is the acer banner screen.  what should i do?  any way to reset or use this device?

If there's an upgraded OS image on the support site you can try an in place upgrade to the same version, that often fixes corrupted OS files. If not then you'd likely have to contact Acer support to see if they can get you the original OS image to try. If the problem is hardware than those won't fix it. The storage on these devices has a lifetime and when you get close to the end you see this type of thing as well.
