WiFi driver stopped working after windows update (OS: Windows 10)
Hey guys!
So a couple of days ago my WiFi stopped working. All WiFi-related menus simply doesn't show up anymore. Seeing as i use ethernet when at home, i'm not quite sure when this happened, but i presume that it was after a windows update i did a couple of days ago.
So i went into Device Manager and checked out my WiFi-adapter and sure enough, it had a little yellow triangle next to it.
So i tried updating the drivers, disabling/enabling the device, reinstalling the device (with reboot of system) and all of that. Nothing works.
Under Properties/General/Devide status it says "Windows is still setting up the class configuration for this device. (Code 56)".
I then tried downloading the driver off the Acer support site (I supplied the correct SNID, so model should not be the problem). When i try to install that as the driver from the device manager, it takes forever, and eventually results in a timeout.
I've been googling possible solutions for the last couple of hours with no result.
I already tried:
- Uninstalling VPNs (i don't have any)
- running sfc /scannow
Any suggestions on what to do would be very much appreciated!
Cheers,
Mathias.
