I mentioned in a different post that I had bought two of the same types of laptops. The first one won't charge, it says "Plugged in, Not charging" I tried uninstalling, leaving the battery out, all sorts of things and still nothing. The other laptop is stuck on the "Enter Current Password" screen. I don't know the BIOS password and I can't find it online. Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Hi st8d,
Lets take one issue at a time. For the computer where the computer when connected to charger , says "Plugged in, Not charging." Does the computer shut down when you disconnect the charger. Try these steps.
    • Open the Device Manager by searching for it or right-clicking the Start button and selecting Device Manager.
    • Look for battery. Click the arrow by the side of battery. Right-click on each item and choose Uninstall device.( Make sure to un-check the button that says delete driver as we are not deleting any driver).
    • Restart the computer which will reinstall the battery driver.
    • Shut down your laptop.
    • Unplug the power cable from your laptop.
    • If your laptop has a removable battery, remove it.
    • Put the battery back in if you removed it.
    • Plug in your laptop.
    • Power on your laptop.
    • Click the battery icon in the system tray and you should see that your laptop is plugged in and charging.
Now regarding the second computer if you do not remember the BIOS password then I recommend you to take computer to a local technician as he will need to open computer to work with the CMOS battery and motherboard.
Please let me know if this fixes your issue.

I did as you said to the laptop to no avail. The laptop is running Windows 10 and it now says Plugged In, Charging" and "0% Available." What does this mean for me? New battery time?

    Hi st8d,
Thanks for your response. Before coming to that conclusion please try these steps ones.
So for doing a power drain. Turn off the laptop and remove the charger if connected to it.
Turn around the laptop and look for a tiny pin hole on the back panel or bottom panel of your laptop. The pinhole will have a battery symbol drawn by the side of it.
Once you find it ,take a thin paper clip and Press and HOLD IT DOWN in the pin hole for 30 seconds.(You wont see any light or any change but this this will drain the static power in laptop.)
Now that power drain is done ,lets do BIOS default.
    1)Connect charger to computer.
    2) Press the power button one time and immediately start tapping F 2 key about 10-15 times in order to go to system utility of BIOS screen.
3)Once in Bios, tap F9 one time, hit Enter.
4)Then press F10 one time, hit Enter.
    This will restart your computer.
Now leave the computer plugged in for sometime and check if the battery is charging.
If it still stuck at 0% then you may need to change the battery.
Please let know if this fixed your issue.

Hey there, I was looking for the pinhole you talked about, but I don't see one on my model. Where is it located?

The battery reset is for internal batteries.  If your device does not have one, it's probably because you have an external battery.  To drain electricity from your device, power off, remove both the battery & the charger, then press & hold the power button for 20 seconds.
If the battery indicator light goes from orange to blue, then it is possible to ignore the error message.  If this does not occur, it may be necessary to replace the battery.

    Hi st8d,
    Thanks for your response.
If you are not seeing the pin hole, no worries. Just remove the charger and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. You can also follow what WIS mentioned, that is if you are able to remove the battery, then take it out and press and hold the power button. That  works too.
Then follow the BIOS defaults. Let me know the result.

    Hi St8d,
Thanks for your response. Hope the new battery works. If your computer is working slow please perform these simple steps to enhance the performance.
1)Many times computer runs slow because of too many unnecessary programs loading up in the background when we start our computer. So go to Task manager
Check in Task manager > Startup to see what is starting when you first turn on your laptop and that are running in the background. The less programs, except for the ones you that you really need , the better. Also check for non Windows processes that you don't need.If in doubt, just disable them do not delete them.
Then end task for that and restart computer.

2)Update all drivers in  device manager. Press windows +X, click device manager.
Under device manager if you see any driver with flag, update driver and  install the correct version of that driver for that device.

3)Another way is to increase the virtual memory.Follow these steps

Click the Windows + Pause break(in the keyboard)

Go to advanced system settings from the options in the left panel.
Now go to performance tab and click on settings.
Under settings, go to the advanced tab again and click on change for virtual memory.
Uncheck  "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives", click Custom.
Choose your drive(c) Enter a custom paging file size that is larger then what your computer is currently set to.Initial/Max size (This value varies, depending on your computer. If you’re not sure what value to use, just enter whatever the number is in the Recommended category.
    Now click SET and OK.
This should also help your computer to run faster .

    4) Delete Temp and prefetch.
    Press Windows +R
    type   prefetch
    Hit Enter.
Now press Control +A to select all.
Shift +delete to delete the all the prefetch. Once all is cleared come out of the page.

    Press Windows +R
    type %temp%
    Hit Enter.
Now press Control +A to select all.
Shift +delete to delete the all the temp files.

All these steps should help in enhancing your computer performance. Please let me know if it helped

To be 100% sure that the problem is in the battery, take the battery from the other notebook you have and make sure the problem is solved!
To drain static power, remove the battery and press the power button for thirty seconds:

If it does not, try removing the rtc battery:

    Other accelerators.
If you run Kaspersky (or another anti-virus program) on top of Windows Defender, you only need Defender.
If the prior owner did not delete the "bloatware" that shipped with the device, you can delete them. It would be a good idea to create a system image beforehand, in event something essential becomes deleted accidentally.
