I have a G3-605-UR1H running Windows 10, booting off of a SSD.

When I boot my computer, the "Acer" screen appears, then ~10min later, a black screen with a large white cursor appears. The computer doesn't appear to respond to any keyboard commands in the "black screen mode" or given any other indications that I'm in a Windows session.

Any ideas on what could be going on or how to cure it? Unfortunately, I don't have a Windows book disk or any ideas on how to do an alternative boot (e.g. in Safe Mode).

    >>If you have black screen with cursor issues, you can try pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc or Ctrl + Alt + Del in order to start Task Manager. From Task Manager you’ll be able to start Device Manager by doing the following:
Press File > Run new task.
Enter devmgmt.msc and press Enter to run it.
When Device Manager opens, locate your graphic card, right click it and choose Uninstall. If asked, make sure that you check Delete driver software for this device. Restart your computer, and let windows install the drivers.

Sometimes the black screen problem keeps happening because fast startup is enabled on your computer.

    >>If the black screen is still displayed, hold the power button to shut down and repeat this over 3 times until you see the Recovery screen.

Click the buttons See advanced repair options > Troubleshoot >Advanced options >Windows Startup Settings >Restart. After your PC restarts, you'll see a list of options. Select 4 or F4 to start your PC in Safe Mode. Or if you'll need to use the Internet, select 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking. Now perform the above steps.

You can sometimes get this issue if you have a bootable drive plugged into a USB port or a bootable disc in your optical drive. Verify those types of things are out before going into deeper diagnostics with the OS or video.
