Hey guys,
I experienced this problem yesterday the first time. I have my external monitor plugged in to my laptop with HDMI-DVI cable and I have it set up as extended view. My main monitor (laptop) starts flickering and goes randomly full black but I can still use the external monitor.
I googled for hours for a solution to this and nothing seemed to help. I have Norton Antivirus which is known to do this so I uninstalled it and nothing, the flickering and black screen still happens. I have updated my internal graphic card and I have also used the laptop alone and hooked it up to a basic TV with HDMI-HDMI cable. I even did a soft reset to factory settings (removes apps and settings but keeps my personal files) as well as full factory reset.
One page suggested to check the power options and turn everything off that puts the computer in sleep. Did that and still keeps flickering.
I have updated windows, Norton Antivirus and everything I can think of.
The only time it was relatively stable was when I had my external monitor hooked to my laptop and use it as duplicate.
System specs:
Acer Aspire S5-371
Processor Intel Core i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 620 version 25.20.100.6326
Ram 7.87 GB
Windows 10 64-bit
External monitor Acer K222HQL
Anyone knows how to deal with this problem?
