How to stop sharp annoying whistle from speakers?

Aspire 5738-6969. Windows 10. Audio playback trouble shooter didn't find any problem. Please Help!

    Options
    If the whistle disappears when muting the speakers, open Disk Manager. Click the sound etc folder and uninstall the realtek drivers. Then exit Device Manager. Reboot Windows and let it auto re-detect your realtek hardware and automatically re-install the driver. Jack E/NJ

    I had to turn off Input i.e Mic under Sound in Settings. Then Absolutely No Whistling!!!

    Congrats on your solution. That's a typical audio feedback loop. The mic picks up sound from the speakers, then amplifies it and send it back to the speakers, which is picked up again by the mic to further amplify back to the speakers. Jack E/NJ
