Hey There,
I bought Acer Predator Helios 300 because of it's amazing configuration. I am used to Debain, and tried to install that on the same. But it seems that Acer it not providing any support for debain for drivers and software like PredatorSense etc. I request You All (Acer Officials) to Please provide support for linux users too. Let's see if there is any change from your side. Meanwhile if anyone(On this community) have links of un-official drivers etc for linux then please provide that.
Thank You!

    У меня

Predator PH317-52.

I have a Predator PH317-52. It was originally with pre-installed Linux. Naturally, it does not work (Even the installation failed). I also tried Macrosofac 10. Plowing and demolishing it to eb ... mother. I suffered for a long time, 7 days. I picked up a Linux Mint 18.1. After installing this version of Linux Mint 18.1, it was gradually upgraded to Linux Mint 18.3. Frankly, it was established only from the 2nd time. Everything works fine, without a single failure. So if anyone has the desire and patience, go ahead. I attach a screenshot with the working Nvidea driver. Good luck!

Came pre installed with linux you say ? i really doubt it (only if you bought it used and someone installed/tried install it) i doubt acer would ship any laptop with pre installed linux especially gaming laptops and when they don't even have officially support for it, they are all win10 all models as far as i know (and all models they have in their website they are all windows).

There are some countries/sellers that offer linux for the Helios out of box. So he is telling the truth.

Have you tried WINE to get these programs to run?

Hi There! I don't use Wine to run Windows apps, I've given up OC Windows altogether. I'm using one basic OC Linux Mint 18.3 and it's 100 percent enough for me. I found a replacement for almost all OC Windows applications. If someone needs something, write prompt. Good luck!!!

I run Debian Stretch just fine.  You will need to run the Realtek proprietary drivers though.  I also run the NVidia proprietary drivers.  There is no driver that Acer needs to provide to get Debian running so I don't understand your question.  You will need to use Optirun to get NVidia running though so remember that too.
