Acer Aspire R3-131T Laptop crashes, restarts when waking from sleep

Acer Aspire R3-131T. Whenever laptop goes to sleep, it crashes when I wake it up. Happens regardless of method used to put it to sleep or to wake it up. I have tried NUMEROUS things to fix. I have spent COUNTLESS hours searching the internet. I have updated drivers, uninstalled drivers, reinstalled drivers, and even REINSTALLED WINDOWS 10. Additionally, when laptop is shut down, if I turn it on using the power button on the side, I always get the blue light at first, but after a second, it shuts off again. I usually have to push the power button 3-4 times to get it to actually turn on and start up. Please help!

I presume you don't have a system image before the last Windows 10 update. If that is the case, do a factory reset & hide the last update to prevent it from installing again. Create a system image with that update hidden, just in case it does not stay hidden. Then it is a matter of waiting for Microsoft to fix the bugs in their latest updates.

Thanks for the response! Unfortunately, with my 32G HDD, no, I don't have a recovery image. Also, this started happening before the most recent update. Besides, when I reinstalled Windows, that did away with any recovery file anyway. However, I think maybe it's a hardware issue, since I usually have to turn it on several times to get it to STAY on after a crash. After a crash, I try to turn it back on, I get the blue light, then it just shuts off again. Rinse repeat 2-3 times, then it finally stays on and Bios eventually starts.

Let's hope your device is still under warranty, if it's a hardware problem. Warranty Checker.
If off warranty, re-seating the RAM is not that difficult, as shown below.
If it's a failing HDD, it would be a good idea to create a system image before the actual failure.

I have an ES1-533-C2UM. Runs Windows 10 64 bit with 8Gb ram. I am running a bigger monitor with laptop screen off. I have a 10 port USB powered hub. I run a 1 Tb backup drive. That scanned good. All devices plugged in to this hub (4) work fine. My Acer is about 4 years old and up to a few days ago was performing well with only a few minor gliches. The computer locks after laying idle for about 15 minutes. I have done the following:
1. Forced shutdown by holding down the power button.
2. Rebooted to determine if it freezes again. Yes it did and did again and again after all of the following steps, requiring forced shut down and reboot.
3. Looked at Windows log that suggested something or someone was trying to access the laptop but it's so complex that I need hours and hours to decipher messages by consulting the Microsoft site.
4. Turned the modem/router off to isolate possible external evil doings.
5. Turned off all power saving settings such as monitor and CPU idle states.
6. Turned off screen saver.
7. Updated the touchpad & mouse/usb drivers.
8. Did a Windows memory scan (does it twice).
9. Used Trend Micro (paid for) Anti Virus software to scan all drives. Nothing found.
10. Uninstall all non-essential programs or software that has not been used recently, particularly games software install by my son. Freed up abou 5Gb.
11. Defragmented hard drives
12. Scanned any HDSD and Micro SD cards that have been used recently.
13. Installing Windows 10 update as other is 5 updates behind as indicated by Windows update program.
Wait and see. It's at 24% installed after 1.5 hours. Will report outcome.

The computer froze several times during Windows upgrade but luckly remembered where it was before I rebooted. In the meantime I looked at a critical error log which showed code 41. This was the breakthrough as on Tom's Hardware, the diagnosis was power supply adapter failure with fluctuating voltage. The site was adament that there were no software errors and was a hardware/ps problem. I have this PS plugged in all the time as my Acer is used as a desktop PC. I removed the PS and success! Running just on battery and then no more freezes for over 1 .5 hours so far. I just plugged the battery back in to boost the charge while I am typing this. I need to go back to battery to finish Windows upgrade and this install was overdue anyway. It only freezes with no activity for 15 minutes or so. I'll buy another PS tomorrow.
