The biggest backpack Acer seems to sell direct is

Predator Gaming Utility Backpack (Black & Teal)

It says 17" Deep but the Helios 500 is a 17.3 inch laptop and that extra 0.3 inches makes it NOT fit in backpack rated for 17" laptops.

Do any of the Predator backpacks fit the Helios 500?

the backpack specs say its about 20.5" height so it would be a perfect fit for 17.3" laptop.

Hey bro I have this backpack and my Helios 500 fits perfectly. Not too tight and not too loose.

    Best gaming backpack I own

FYI: 99% of laptops claiming to be 17" are in fact 17.3" and 99% of bags claiming 17" are 17.3"

Its great because when the laptop is inside its inner pocket sleeve it doesnt touch the bottom of the bag, so that pouch on the bottom is where the inner sleeve stops to prevent the laptop from contacting the group when set down.

It's also built like a beast, water proof zippers etc.

This is  not true for briefcase-style bags and I have one datapoint against it for backpacks. I also have two old 17" briefcase bags from using my previously 17" laptop and the Helios 500 fits neither. I have have a fairly new 17" laptop backpack but the Helios 500 doesn't fit in it either. I also took the laptop to an office media store to test the 17" bags they had and none of them worked with the Helios 500... not the briefcase bags and not the backpacks. I tried like 8 or 9 there. The 0.3" extra width does make a difference.

Perhaps the actual thickness of the laptop makes up that difference as I own a Helios 300 17" and I currently have 5 travel bags two of which are briefcases that it fits in. The Helios 500 doesn't though.

I guess I should have answered more thoroughly.

UPDATE: Bought the Predator backpack for 17" laptops. Fits the Helios 500 17" nicely as it should.

First impressions: The bag looks great. Seems well designed. Maybe could use a little more padding between laptop and your back. Takes me about 3 to 6 months to get a "real world" opinion on a new backpack or briefcase.

One questions arises: not sure which way (if any) is recommended to put the laptop in, screen towards your back or underside of laptop towards your back. Seems like underside would be better since the screen feels a bit more delicate.
