Can I keep Predator Helios 300 turned on while plugged in 24/7

MazieMazie Posts: 3Member New User
Hello everyone I'm going to purchase the new Acer Predator Helios 300 (Model: PH315-51-78NP) very soon.

I currently have an old Acer Aspire V3-571G and I always keep it on/plugged in and it lasted for over 6 years, but I think Helios 300 might be different because it's more powerful and I see a lot of people with heating issues. I'm wondering if I will be able to keep it on all the time without having any issues? I don't plan to move it a lot, so it will pretty much always be plugged in one place like a PC.

Is it better to shut it down or restart every once in a while or doesn't matter?

When you first purchase your laptop you should let it charge to 100% then let it drain to 20% a total of 3 times to calibrate your battery (for long life).
Temperatures can be managed by simple windows settings tweaks and undervolting (some need no tweaks).

Modern laptops stop charging once battery is full, if you experience up to a 5% drop in charge after unplugging (where it says fully charged) its no issue and is quite normal. After fully charged the battery can slightly deplete up to 5% and then it trickle charges back to 100%.

It is also safe to leave your laptop plugged in following the calibration method I described above and every 2-3 months allow the battery to drain to 20% then recharge to keep it healthy.

I keep mine connected 24/7 while it is turned on... take it off power about once a month or so.
