In defense of the ACER technicians, most manufacturer laptops today all use plastic clips molded into the top and bottom cases to help secure and make them tight fitting. As a result, it does make them difficult to pry apart and often results in marring and broken clips. But it in no way affects operation after the screws are re-inserted and tightened. Jack E/NJ

I know, right? But I'm not talking about the screws here, but about scratches. They were clearly not careful when handling it. My father is a technician and he's always putting a towel or something soft under the things he's fixing, for scratches not to happen. It's so obvious...
I'll do something about this. This can't stay like that. The laptop is brand new, I barely used it.  :/

Is it possible the scratches and marring happened during shipment? How was it protected both sending and receiving? Possibly a damage claim to the carrier would be successful. Jack E/NJ

    I don't think so...
The laptop came inside a plastic bubble thingy, inside a cardboard box (with a plastic cover around it), it's impossible for it to scratch the laptop in that way. It really looks like they fixed the laptop on a flat surface, without any protection under it.
I already got in touch with acer, let's see what they are going to do... I'm just waiting for their reply.
Ah, and as it seems, they changed many things inside the laptop, the probably didn't find the problem.
They changed the HDD, RAM, Motherboard and some other things.
At least the laptop is working properly.

Could you post before/after pix? Cosmetic issues usually aren't given a high priority unless they're really bad or affect how it works. Jack E/NJ

That's a picture of before I sent it. At the time I didn't think about taking a close picture of it or record it, but if you zoom in you cannot see any scratches, only finger prints (which is normal).
I will record a video to show you the scratches, as they are a little difficult to be spotted on pictures. I'm pretty sure they will be visible on a video, then I will post it here.

It is a shame Acer doesn't really care about their client's products and lets something like this happen to them. I want it looking new, like it was on my hands. I don't want to see scratches on something I just bought. Something that isn't cheap.
By the way, they finally sent me an email and told me to send it back to them. But what if they make more scratches on it? What if something happens while delivering? I'm worried and disappointed.
The invoice shows me they changed practicaly everything inside the laptop. It costed them almost double the price of the same laptop, brand new. Wasn't it wiser to just send me a new one? I really don't get it.
I will record the video and I'll link it here later.
I'm sorry for the texts... I'm just very disappointed.

That's OK. A video really isn't necessary. Just a similar "after" picture or two would be enough to see how bad it is. If it were mine and working good, I'd probably not want to risk sending it back again. Jack E/NJ

I tried my best taking pictures... But unfortunately the scratches are barely visible on them.

Here's the video. I had to record it vertically.

Olá Egydio! Sou a mesma pessoa do problema de tela azul haha. O note voltou do conserto todo riscado. Como eu havia dito num comentário anterior, a Acer já entrou em contato e irei enviar o aparelho de volta. Quero outro computador. Esse já era.

Hello Egydio! I'm the same person from the bluescreen problem, haha. My laptop came back from maintenance like that!  :s
Like I said in a previous comment, Acer have gotten in touch with me already and I'll send it back to them. I want another laptop. This one is already done for.

I'm not entirely sure but I think it's brushed plastic. Feels more like plastic to me.

Might be aluminized plastic. Depending on the thickness of the aluminum layer, the scratches can sometimes be essentially erased or brushed away with fine steel wool, emery paper or even an ink eraser in the same up & down vertical direction as the main vertical factory brush stripes. If it were my machine, I probably would first try to gently brush a small scratch away(like encircled below) in a fairly inconspicous spot to see if it works. Jack E/NJ

  • @JackE! Without wishing my little brother dropped some superbonder glue on the case of my v3-571 monitor! It did not reach a very large area, but when I got home, it had been a few hours and the glue had dried! Do you know any products that can remove this type of glue?
With case, I am referring to this:

@egydiocoelho On a plastic case, I'd leave it be. Jack E/NJ
