ACER Aspire V Nitro won't turn on but is still charging??

My laptop shut off randomly running only minimal tasks and could not be turned on again. Plugging in and unplugging the power supply will indicate that the computer is charging, and can even be fully charged. The lightbulb LED indicating that the computer is on is not glowing.

Pressing and holding the power button makes an audible ticking noise as if the laptop is attempting to start up.

The computer has worked fine for two years until this incident.

Please help :(

    Hi Chocolatechaeri,
Please try to do a power drain or battery reset.
For this take out the charger if connected and press and hold the power button till all lights are off.
Have a look at the bottom of the laptop. Search for a tiny pin hole with a battery symbol by the side of it. If you see the pin hole, take a paper clip and press and hold it down for 30 seconds.
If you do not see the pin hole, then simply press and hold the power button for 30 seconds and let go.
Try turning on computer. If still no display. Try performing BIOS default.
    Steps to follow.
    1) Press and hold power button to make sure all lights are off.
2)Now press power button just ones and keep tapping F2 (tap, tap)about 10-15 times till the bios screen doesnt load up.
    3) Ones in BIOS, Press F9 one time and hit enter.
    4) Press F10 one time and hit enter.
This will restart your computer and it should be working fine.
Please let me know if this fixed your issue.

Battery trick doesn't work. And since it won't power on, I can't do the BIOS default either.

    Hi chocolatechaeri,
Sorry to hear that power drain did not help. If the acer logo is also not showing when pressing the power button, in that case, its a hardware issue. Please take it to a local technician for parts replacement. Or if your computer is in warranty then contact acer support for warranty repair options.

  • Please inform the exact model of your notebook! Example: v3-571! The current notebooks have an internal battery and the correct battery reset is slightly different than what was said by colleague @Kamalika!
You should disconnect the notebook from the electrical power and press the battery reset hole for five seconds. Then leave the notebook off for five minutes and test!
If this does not work, it is possible that the interlock power interrupt button is not pressed properly, so I need the exact model of your notebook!
