Hi all
I have downgraded my mothers cloudbook from Win 10 to Win 8.1 pro because of the update issues on a 32Gb Mem card but it will not detect the network adaptor
I windows so I cannot get online to get rest of drivers
On website there are only network drivers for Win 10 so I am wondering if this cloudbook can only run windows 10
Any advice would be really appreciated
Thanks in advance

    Hi @stunner1901

you can still download the drivers for windows 10 and install in windows 8.1 pro and it would still be compatible.

If the only reason for downgrading OS is because of storage issue you can install Win 10 latest version by creating windows media creation tool. Doing this would help saving more space in the unit.

link to create media creation tool and how to use it: https://us.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/48158

In the Acer website drivers always be available for the OS which has been shipped with the device or higher than that but not a downgraded ver. ( this is only exception for few models )

The SD memory reader should have nothing to do with the Ethernet adapter nor with the Wifi adapter, therefore it is not clear as to the reason for the downgrade in the first place.

Most of the cloudbooks were shipped with 32GB and out of box space available to the end user would be hardly 8-12GB and this space is eventually used by updates and download stuff. So, most of the end users downgrade their OS to get enough space to save their stuff.

By downgrading the OS most of the drivers that comes by default may not work properly. that's the reason the end user has to download compatible drivers

    Hi Rudy,
Thanks for the explanation.  Per this .pdf, it implies support of a 32 GB SDHC/2 TB SDXC card (pages 49-50).  If this is correct, the OP should be able to use his 32 GB card with no driver problems in Windows 10.

True. the user has downgraded the OS and experiencing the issue with network. Using the 32GB does not have any link with drivers until unless the OS works on any amount of storage.

O.K., the OP needs to clarify the sequence of events.  Did he have Windows 10 Update problems while using the 32 GB card, before the downgrade?
