Hi,
I have had this problem for almost a year now, and always found a workaround for apps but now I really want to fix it. My laptop is Predator G9-591 on Windows 10 Pro (64-bit). I have 2 GPU's: Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M. I am new to forums, so if I have to provide any other information, please let me know.
The problem is my option to run with other GPU in the context menu is greyed out (
http://prntscr.com/l16r0a ). If I try to change anything from the nVidia Control Panel, it is greyed out as well (
http://prntscr.com/l16rz7 ). Anytime I run a game with integrated graphics it either loads music and no visual or just crashes.
What I've tried so far:
- Clean installation of the latest driver with GeForce Experience
- Uninstalling with DDU and installing driver version 385.69 (my current one)
- Reinstalling Windows
- Trying to use nVidia Profile Inspector but couldn't find a profile of the needed game (Magic the Gathering: Arena)
- Tried to turn off my integrated GPU from BIOS (no luck)
What workarounds worked when other games forced using integrated graphics:
- In steam, launching the game with OpenGL (if the option is there)
- Updating or rolling back drivers
- Manually disabling the integrated GPU from Device Manager
The latter solution helps with Magic the Gathering: Arena (the game starts and runs as it should) but I do not want to do this every time I want to launch the game. So please, someone, help me with this problem. I will be eternally grateful for solving this and I am tired from reading solutions which do not help my situation. The only reason I left this problem untouched for so long because I've always tried so many things that I probably forgot to mention above and it never worked for me.
Thanks in advance.
