Hi,
My dad has an Aspire ES1-523 laptop and every time he turns it on, the InsydeH20 Setup Utility Screen appears.  I don't know what caused this to happen and I'm not much better than he is at understanding this kind of thing.
I've tried to move every option to the top in the Boot Menu and re-booting but still the InsydeH20 appears.  He doesn't remember making/receiving any recovery discs.
Please can anyone help?  I have photos of the Boot screens and Information screen.
Thank you

Perhaps a stuck F2 key.  Ignore the video from 4:22 onward.  Dangerous to fiddle with the BIOS.

If your device was shipped with windows 10 and the boot mode should be in UEFI and the First boot device should be windows boot manager.

Try to create a bootable USB drive and boot the device.
For windows 10, You can download the iso file of your edition from microsoft and use Rufus to create a bootable USB drive and install the OS, Windows will install most of the drivers, if you need any drivers, you can download them from Acer support site.
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10
    https://rufus.akeo.ie/

Reloading Windows with the Media Creation Tool:
Press and hold the Power button for five seconds to turn off your computer. Plug in the USB Drive that contains the Media Creation Tool files.
Power on the system and begin tapping the F2 Key to enter the BIOS. In the BIOS, use the arrow keys to navigate to the Main menu item at the top.
Use the down arrow to highlight F12 Boot Menu and press Enter. Highlight Enabled and press Enter.
Press the F10 key and press Enter to save the changes and exit. The system will reboot immediately.
As soon as the system begins rebooting, press the F12 key repeatedly to enter the Boot Manager.
Select the USB HDD and press Enter. The Windows Setup environment will launch. Select your Language, Time and Keyboard, then click Next.
Click Install Now. Accept the license terms and click Next.
You will be prompted with choices and follow the onscreen instructions. Using recovery option will erase all personal data.

    Correction:
The video from 4:22 onward cannot be ignored.  When your Dad's laptop was manufactured, it was set to UEFI, but changed to BIOS (Legacy) before he received it.  Here is an explanation of UEFI vs. Legacy BIOS.  The reason why the rest of the video cannot be ignored is that after the F2 key has been repaired & after the first bootup; he will get a BSOD upon subsequent bootups.  As noted in the video, the firmware has returned to UEFI & because his Windows 10 is incompatible with UEFI (but compatible with Legacy BIOS), the laptop shuts down & issues a BSOD warning.

    I would suggest the following:
    1) After the first reboot into Windows 10 to check if the F2 problem has been resolved, turn off the laptop immediately.
    2) Go to another 64 bit device & create a Macrium Windows PE Recovery Medium.  Use the free 7 days trial version of Macrium.
    3) Return to your Dad's laptop, turn it on & at the Acer splash screen, hit the F12 key to enter the Boot Menu.
    4) Highlight the Macrium CD or USB drive & hit Enter.
    5) Create a system image of the laptop, not a clone.
    6) When finished, close the application by hitting the X in the upper right hand corner & power down.
    7) Restart the  laptop.  At the Acer splash screen; hit F2 to change the default of UEFI to Legacy as demonstrated in the video.  Hopefully the BSOD would have been forestalled.
    8) If everything is back to normal, create a second system image, which will have the firmware set as Legacy BIOS.  Delete the first system image to avoid confusion.

If you're unable to complete the above, ask your Dad if he made an Acer eRecovery medium for his laptop.  If not, it can be purchased at this website.  You will need the SNID, which is on the back cover.  Before using the Acer Recovery medium, backup all personal files & synchronize the browser.  After recovery with the Acer medium, follow step 7 to see if it is necessary to change the default from UEFI to Legacy BIOS.  It may not be necessary.  Acer eRecovery requires less technical skills, but takes a lot more time.

All of this seems intimidating, but if you know how to change the boot order, you should be able to do the above.  Your Dad will think you are a genius when you've corrected the original problem & avoided the BSOD.

The notebooks that are currently being manufactured, are coming in uefi mode and with hd converted in gpt! I recommend that you create an easy access password in the set supervisor password and thus disable the secure boot! You should also have seen in the boot section, windows boot manager first and not hd id! It's possible that somehow the windows boot partition (gpt) has been corrupted and so windows boot manager is not showing up:
