i need to backdate my chromebook to the previous version can anyone help with this

    You can do a Powerwash & Revert as shown here.  The only problem is that next time you login, your Chromebook will auto-update to the version that you don't want.  I've tried a combination of method #1 &  method #2 because I'm still learning to concatenate.  The auto-update was disabled for about 1 week.  After I learned concatenation, I'll try just method #2.

    Don't forget to backup your files & make certain that the browser has been set to sync.

    There does not appear to be a good work-around to disable auto-updates except repeated Powerwash + Revert or learn to live with the pesky new Chrome OS.  Disabling auto-updates requires Developer Mode & the remove_rootfs_verification command, which makes the Chromebook vulnerable to malware.
    If the user cannot stand the Chrome OS update & he is lucky enough to have the hardware to support a RW_Legacy firmware, then he can dual boot with Linux.
