There is a 256GB SATA M2 already installed and what appears to be an empty M2 port at the back of the laptop. Can I add an additional M2 drive to the empty port? Is it SATA or PCIe? Or do I have to replace the existing SATA drive with a larger one?

You can upgrade with a M.2 SATA SSD or a M.2 NVMe SSD up to a recommended size of 512GB
