Hi,
I have a new Nitro where Wake-on-lan works like a dream.. I only allowed it to do this in the Bios and in Windows 10 (device manager) on the adaptor...
It works from power off with a lan cable and the power cord.. (I send the magic pack from a phone app over wifi)

But on my older Aspire V5-573G (i7-4500u), I cant get this to work... However if I put it to sleep fro Windows it is working... And if I put it to sleep, wake it up, and then shut it down, then it also works (a bit weird but it works).... This leads me to ask, how come it doesn't work then when I shut it down? ... I have been through a lot of settings testing it.. From disallowing fast boot-up in Win and trying different settings in the registery for the Realtek Family Controller (it also has been updated with a new driver)..

Yeah(!) - the above video worked, so I now have a power option in my Bios on my Aspire V5-573G
I clicked 3 times FN key + TAB in Bios, then I exited Bios, restarted and entered Bios again (then advanced and power settings showed) ..

I entered Power management in Bios and enabled Wake on PME, and now it works when it is normally shut down. Nice!

    Hi Hookdk
Try these steps and see if issue resolved.

In the Basic Input Output System (BIOS)

    1. Power on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press the F2 key, or the DEL key if you have a desktop, to enter the BIOS.
    2. Use the arrow keys to navigate to Power Management Setup and press the ENTER key.
    3. Navigate to Deep Power Off Mode, and press ENTER to set it to Disabled.
    4. Navigate to Power On by PCIE Devices and press ENTER to set it to Enabled.
    5. Press the F10 key to save changes and restart the system.

    In Windows

    1. Click Start, then right-click My Computer (or Computer) and click Manage.
    2. In the Computer Management window, on the left, click Device Manager.
    3. Click the + sign in front of Network Adapters.
    4. Double-click the network adapter.
    5. Click the Power Management tab, and enable the Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby option  .
    6. Also make sure If Fast  startup is off, your computer will take longer to start from Sleep.
Your computer will also not start if it receives an instruction to start over a
      network (Wake on LAN).

Well, I have been there already, done the basics... But some way it must work since it is working when sleeping at first, woken up, then shut down...

I don't have these options in the bios on V5-573G (I only have Wake-on-lan), not even got that on my new Nitro (which works):
Navigate to Deep Power Off Mode, and press ENTER to set it to Disabled.
Navigate to Power On by PCIE Devices and press ENTER to set it to Enabled

  • Hi,
You could also try switching of "Link state Power management" in advanced Power options.
