Abrupt shutdown despite charge

I have an Aspire E5-575, and I've had it for about two years.  It completely shut down, unprompted, despite being about 85% charged.  At the time I was playing a YouTube video, and had Spotify and a Word doc open, but nothing else.  It just cut all audio and visual and shut down, and I couldn't turn it back on until I'd plugged in the charger for a minute or two, as if it had completely run out of battery power.  There was no update/restart scheduled or anything, and a scan I performed after getting it rebooted didn't yield any issues or threats.  Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what caused it and how do I ensure it doesn't happen again?

Check the event logs in Control Panel. It may have been a power loss due to a mainboard safety switch being inadvertently activated. Have you removed any case covers recently that might be slightly misaligned and not fully engaging this switch? Jack E/NJ
