How to use a USB Flash drive with an ACER R11 Chromebook (4 Ram 32gb CB5-132T-18Y)?

With a Samsung USB 3.0 flash drive inserted and clicking the "Launch" button at the bottom of the screen, the USB flash drive does not show up and I can't see files on the flash drive to edit them, nor can I find a "safe to eject" or "eject" button. This Chromebook from the Acer Recertified online store seems to work well otherwise (so far), but the lack of adequate instructions on use of things like USB drives is a frustration, as there is more to it than just plugging in the flash drive. Is there a limit to the memory size of the USB that is supported? E.G., is a 64gb 3.0 flash drive OK, but 128gb or 256gb too big? Thanks for helping with this one.

Heheh, no need for the flash extension. You likely triggered an auto reply with the word flash. USB thumb drives should show up when you insert them. Do you know what format it used? It's possible the drive is formatted in something Chrome doesn't see.

Hi Sjgoodin,
Please download the Flash extension from the chrome browser.Then check if it works.Steps to follow:
1)Open the chrome browser.
2) On the top right corner you will see 3 vertical dots. Click on that then go to More/Extensions.
3)It will open the Extension page for you. In search extension Type"Flash" You will see several flash extension showing there. Download the first one. Then the flash shall be working fine. Let me know if this resolved your issue.

Thank you, Kamalika. The problem was that I inadvertently touched the little up arrow mark with an underline, which caused the USB drive icon to disappear, which is why I could not find it. I can see the files in the thumb drive, but can't activate a command to make a new file folder on that thumb drive. Sj

Thank you, Billsey. The problem was that I inadvertently touched the little symbol of an up arrow with an underline, which caused the USB drive icon to disappear, which is why I could not find it. I can now see the files in the thumb drive, but can't activate a command to make a new file folder on that thumb drive. I am sure there must be a way to do this without pulling the USB flash drive, inserting in a Windows machine and making new file folders, but I just haven't found how to do that yet.
