hey everyone

Having an issue around charging/battery on my predator, the AC adapter is plugged and appears to be charging, howether its disconnecting itself sporadically by itself (sometimes every ten seconds, sometimes four or five) have tried a battery reset as well as reinstalling the drivers for the battery. I have also tried another Acer charger and the issue remains

thanks in advance for any help or information

    Just to clarify that the charger also reconnects by itself without me touching it

    Seems to be a hardware issue; I would suggest contacting Acer support.

    In device manager, try updating the battery driver with the longer name(Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery). If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the driver and see if it reinstall's itself via windows update. If that doesn't work, it could be a bad wire in your AC power brick. I would get another compatible charger and test it if you're able to, or just bring it to the nearest Acer service center. Hope that helps.

    As for your charger reconnecting itself without you touching it...you have a ghost! Get an exorcist :open_mouth::sweat_smile:

    I tried all the above scenarios posted here and at other link. None worked for me.

    But believe me or not guys, you know how it worked for me, I kept plugging and unplugging the charger in laptop for at least 7-8 times, and at last it started charging (I swear on my mother). Its an issue with the battery software I guess where it does not allow sometime to charge.

    Please try it  and let me know if it worked.

    Kerlaedatsk UndyingThanos Helios3002 any of you tried a battery power drain disconnect from AC press/hold the battery drain switch for 30s let the laptop rest for 2/3h boot into bios reset to bios default settings and see if the issue persists also uninstalling the acpi driver and let it reinstall if none of these works it would be probably a hardware issue either a faulty charger or the mobo in this case contact the shop/seller of acer support directly for a possible repair/replace if still on warranty

    In my case I solved the same issue:
    1) change termopaste;
    2) deattache battery;
    3) plugged in charger;
    4) stress test cpu and gpu (you may play some heavy game for 30 minutes to check if the problem is in charger. If your laptop shutdown during stress test, try to change charger).
    5) (if didn’t shutdown) attache battery and try stress test with charger in.

    I noticed that the issue starts after I overheated my CPU/GPU. When I worked with my regular office case scenario charger didn’t disconnected/connected.
    I think the problem is in overheating and the system tries to decrease tepmerature but with in wrong way.
