Aspire 5742 boot issue

 try to turn the laptop on with the battery in I only get five orange blinks  from the lightbulb icon.
When I remove the battery and with the AC Adapter pluged in I get no indication lights at all as if no power is going to the laptop and it wont boot.  AC adaptor has a green indicator light on when plugged

Try the below steps.

> Unplug all the cables connected ( Including power cable )
> Remove the battery 
> now press and hold the power button for 30-40sec 
> now connect the charger and check if the device recognizes charger.

this should do the trick
