NVidia Gone missing?

Recently (since some windows 10 automatic updates) I have been experiencing driver power state failure BSOD quite regularly. I believe I have narrowed it down to the NVidia Geforce GTX 1060 on my Acer Predator G3-571. When I look in device manager under display adapters, it only shows Intel HD Graphics 630 and no NVidia listed. When I try to open the system tray icon that usually shows what applications are using the GPU, it closes itself without loading. When I try to open Nvidia GeForce Experience I get an error message saying that it cannot continue because requires an Nvidia GPU. (Trying to open GeForce Experience v 3.13.1.30). Is it possible that the graphics card has come unseated from its mount? I took the case off the laptop and I'm guessing that the card lives under the metal fan housing somewhere and I was hesitant to start pulling screws before checking on here. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance.

This looks like a driver issue to me. If the NVIDIA driver is not showing up under device manager , I request you to first download the latest display driver by going to https://www.acer.com/ac/en/IN/content/drivers.

Ones that is done I request you to perform a BIOS default.Steps for BIOS default-

Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, or until your system shuts completely down.
Power on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press F2 for notebooks or Delete for desktops to enter the BIOS.
Press F9 and then Enter to load the default configuration.
Press F10 and then Enter to save and exit. Please let me know if this fixes your issue.

Kamalika, thanks for your quick response. I have tried to download and install the latest nvidia driver from the acer website, but when I go to install, I get an error message saying that the install cannot continue because nvidia gpu was not detected on this machine

It appears that resetting the BIOS fixed the problem. I have now installed the latest drivers and things appear to be working properly. I will give it a day or two just to make sure. Thanks!

I'm afraid the problem has come back. The symptoms are identical to the ones before. I have tried resetting the BIOS again per your previous instructions, but this time the problem persists. Any other suggestions?

Try installing right from Nvidia's website.

FYI: It's 10 series notebook drivers (64 bit)

I have downloaded and updated nvidia using the link provided, and the issue still persists. The problem in diagnosing is that it is intermittent. I rarely shut down my laptop because I always have multiple projects running, and it will seem to work fine for a week or so, then I begin having the same issues again. I go back, reset the bios, and then on the next boot the pc recognizes the nvidia card, but then the mouse may freeze (keyboard still works) and then after some time I'll get a BSOD 'driver_power_state_failure'. Then when I reboot, the graphics card appears to be missing again and I can't load geforce experience. Rinse and repeat.
