Acer Aspire S7-191 replaced internal battery and have a problem! Can you help?

I have replaced my Acer Aspire S7-191 internal battery with a genuine Acer battery (AP12E3K, dated Aug 18) and whilst it has charged to 100%, the laptop will not turn on independent of the mains, and immediately powers down on removal of the mains. I checked by taking out the new battery and putting the old battery in and this worked independent of the mains. Is this a bad battery (even though it shows 100% charge) or is there something else I am supposed to do when I replace a battery? Many thanks for any help/pointers.

Right! What model of battery came with the notebook? Is the darfon al12c model? If so, there is a difference in battery size, because the one you bought has four cells and the darfon model has three cells!

It is possible that with the four-cell battery, the power interrupt button is not pressed properly, but confirm the battery model that came in the notebook!

Hi - the battery the Acer cane with us a AP12E3K and that is exactly what I replaced it with - every number on the battery is identical except date of manufacture- many thanks for trying to help

Are the voltages of both batteries identical?

Try this:

a) connect the new battery and disconnect the notebook from the power

b) when turning off the notebook, find the battery reset hole and press for five seconds; then leave the notebook off for five minutes and try it!

Hi - they are both as per the attached photo - genuine Acer part - same voltage - thank you for pointing me to reset button - completed as directed - sadly, no change

In this case, either the new battery is defective or the power interrupt button is not being pressed correctly when connecting the new battery!

Check if there is any interrupt button similar to this! However I think the new battery is in trouble, since the notebook usually switches on the old battery!

Thanks so much for trying to help - I cannot see the interrupt button on the battery - looks very different to your photo - I think you are right that there is something wrong with the new one as the old one works as expected when I swapped them over again :-(

I think you are right - when I swapped the old one over - it works as expected - I cannot find an interrupt button but think this would not make a difference

I would replace the battery with another while there is still time! Replace the battery directly in the store if it has not yet passed the seven days!
