Monitors Stopped Working After Windows 10 April Update

I'm posting because my external monitors immediately stopped working after the Windows 10 April Update a week ago. (don't know why it said April if it's September.  however it said April). Notebook screen is working fine.

I have a Acer Aspire E 15  E5-576G-5762 notebook with the NVIDIA GeForce MX150.  Connected with an HDMI monitor, and a VGA monitor.

They both worked fine before the update.

Troubleshooting Steps

- Reload.  Several times.

- Try 'Detect Multiple Displays' under Windows 10 Display Settings.  No other monitors found

- Disconnect & re-connect the HDMI monitor & VGA monitor

- Try only HDMI monitor

- Try only VGA monitor

- Update NVIDIA GeForce MX150 driver

- Access NVIDIA Control Panel.  Nothing found

- Internet search for the issue

1. fixes for the ‘second monitor not detected’ problem

   If your video driver is out of date, incorrect or faulty, Windows 10 (and Windows 7) won’t be able to extend or mirror your desktop to your second display. Rolling back the driver to an older version may fix the problem. If it doesn’t, updating the driver almost certainly will. If unluckily, after dealing with your video driver problem, Windows 10 still can’t detect your second monitor, try Fix 3, then Fix 4.

   1. Roll back to a previously installed video driver
   2. Update your video driver
   3. Make sure your monitor refresh rates are set to same
   4. Change your project mode

   Fix 1: Roll back to a previously installed video driver

   Sometimes the latest drivers don’t work properly on Windows 10. To check if this is what’s causing your problem, simply roll back to a previous version of your video driver (aka ‘display driver’).

   1) On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key  and R (at the same time) to invoke the Run box.

   2) Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.

   

   3) In the Display adapters section, right-click on your display device software, and select Properties.

   
   
   4) Select the Driver tab and click Roll Back Driver, then follow the on-screen instructions.

   

   Note: If the Roll Back Driver option grayed out, you can download a previous video driver from the manufacturer’s website for your video card and install it on your Windows 10, or try the following Method 2.

   5) When complete, restart your computer, and see if Windows can now detect your second monitor.
