Last week I bought a brand new Helios 300 It’s a very good laptop and I love it but now. I’m facing a problem with the laptop. The laptop sometimes randomly restart itself I don’t know what’s the problem and I already disable the auto restart from the advance setting there. If anyone have a solution for it pls do help me I’ll appreciate a lot thank you!!!

Try power drain and BIOS default
power drain: Shut down the unit and unplug the charger. flip your laptop, and the back of your laptopyou can find a pin hole. Pu a paperclip in the pinhole and press and hold the paper clip for 40 seconds. After you done with power drain do BIOS DEFAULT.

BIOS Default: As soon as you press the power button keep pressing the F2 key, so that it will take you to BIOS utility page. Now press F9 and press enter than press f10 and press enter. your unit will restart.

    Hi @Carterchong98

A brand new computer does not supposed to do that. Check the recent updates and whether the restart occured to due update installations.

Also check the event log by following the steps:
Press Windows+R to open the Run dialog, enter eventvwr (or eventvwr.msc) and hit OK.

If these probing don't provide a satisfying answer, contact the Acer support in your region immediately.

I hope, the restarts were just about windows update.
  • If it is the Helios with the 8th gen CPU there was an issue at release where random resets would happen.

The fix is installing the latest BIOs update from here:
