My Aspire 5532 scrambles letters when typing rapidly, or using anything more than a very soft touch on keys. The problem is worst on notepad ap, but the problem occurs in any document ap, however only very rarely while typing into an online format/website, especially if key-touch is hard. Windows 7. ,This has been the case since I've used it, for approx. 3 months (used, a gift from a friend). I downloaded .Touchfreeze.exe, and run it always-on, which has improved the problem somewhat, but not enough to make typing acceptable. Thanks!

    Hi@promicarus,

    To change your keyboard settings:

    1. Open the ‘Ease of Access Settings’ by pressing the Windows logo keyU on the keyboard.
    2. On the ‘Ease of Access’ settings screen, scroll down and select ‘Keyboard’ in the left-hand column.
    3. On the right of the screen, scroll down and under the ‘Filter Keys’ heading click or tap the On/Off toggle switch labelled ‘Ignore or slow down brief or repeated keystrokes and adjust keyboard repeat rates’.
Select Keyboard tap or click the switch under Filter Keys
    4. When ‘Filter Keys’ are enabled you will see the following customisable options:
      Filter Keys options
      • Allow the shortcut key to start Filter Keys
This option is often enabled by default
      • Show the Filter Keys icon on the taskbar:
This adds a shortcut to the task bar for accessing the Filter Key settings.
      • Beep when keys are pressed or accepted:
Enable this option if you would like to hear a sound when a key is pressed.
      • Turn on Bounce Keys:
This option allows the device to ignore a keystroke when you press the same key more than once with a set time limit.
      • Turn on Slow Keys and Turn on Repeat Keys:
These options allow the device to ignore accidental keystrokes according to time limits you set.
Enable Bounce Keys Slow Keys Repeat Keys Adjust the time limits

Thanks so much for your prompt reply and assistance!! Apologies for not responding sooner.

Unfortunately, we seem to have dissimilar systems: My control panel menus have a completely different appearance, and the options you suggest aren't made available.

My listed system, within my account stats, are accurate. Which Win version are you using?
