* Restart your computer, enter the BIOS menu by hitting the hot key (F2, F10, etc).
* Navigate to the Security or Advanced Settings tab and locate TPM, Security Processor, or Intel PTT (Platform Trust Technology).
* Enable the TPM setting and save changes.
* Exit BIOS, your computer will automatically restart, and TPM 2.0 will be activated.
* To check that TPM 2.0 is enabled, press Windows + R, then type tpm.msc. If you’ve successfully enabled TMP, Windows will recognize it and grant access to security features like BitLocker and Secure Boot.

Restarting a slow or clunky device may seem like simple advice, but it is often sufficient to get things running smoothly again. Turning a Chromebook off and on again clears temporary files and shuts down problematic programs, giving your Chromebook’s OS a much-needed refresh.
2. Update the ChromeOS and your apps
An outdated OS can also slow down Chromebooks due to bugs or errors. You can improve your device’s performance by updating ChromeOS to the newest version. Although Chromebooks usually do this automatically, it is worth looking for system updates manually by selecting Settings > About ChromeOS > Check for updates. Similarly, to manually check for application updates, select the Launcher > press the Up arrow > click Play Store and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Clear cache and browsing data
Accumulating excessive browsing data can also slow down a Chromebook, especially as there is limited storage space available. Moreover, temporary files, data, and login information may be stored on Chromebooks as a cache so that you can access websites quickly the next time you visit. Launch the Settings app > select Storage Management to view a summary of cache or browsing data that could be causing device lags. When reviewing your browsing history, you can decide to clear cookies and other site data or cached images and files, too.
4. Remove unused apps and extensions
It is also beneficial to do a regular inventory of apps and extensions, removing those that are unused and outdated. Most apps and extensions start automatically when a Chromebook powers up, which can slow the device down. To uninstall apps, hit the Launcher key to view all the installed applications, hover over the ones you wish to delete, right-click, and then click Uninstall. To remove unwanted files, click Launcher > Open Files, select the files or folders you wish to delete > and click Trash. These files will be permanently deleted after 30 days, or you can permanently delete them immediately. Alternatively, you can move files to the cloud via your Google Drive.
7. Adjust performance
Enabling hyper-threading lets multiple threads, or processes, run on a CPU. This means that if one process lags, the CPU will continue running other threads so the system is unaffected. To switch on hyper-threading, open Chrome and enter chrome://flags#scheduler-configuration into the location field. Then, change Default to Enables Hyper-Threading on relevant CPUs in the right-hand dropdown. Hyper-threading can improve CPU performance, however adjusting experimental Chome flags can pose stability or security risks. This feature only works on Chromebooks with suitable CPU capabilities and be sure to consider the associated risks before enabling hyper-threading.
8. Powerwash the Chromebook
Performing a factory reset, or a Powerwash, can resolve stubborn Chromebook issues and return it to its original condition. However, be sure to back up all files that are saved locally to avoid losing them for good, as they cannot be recovered once a Powerwash is complete. To conduct a Powerwash on a Chromebook, open the Chrome browser, click the three dots in the right-hand corner, select Settings, and click Advanced > Reset settings > Powerwash.

Managing Dragon Resistance and Blight Resistance is crucial to surviving the encounter.
The Guardian Ebony Odogaron is also known for its high-speed attacks, making it a more unpredictable fight. While its moves are powerful, they are still somewhat predictable with experience. Properly managing bleeding and using items like Well-Done Steak, Wild Jerky, or Bleeding Resistance will help you avoid the worst of the damage. With a little preparation and careful positioning, the Guardian Ebony Odogaron can be defeated, but it remains one of the more intense tempered monsters you’ll face in the game.
5. Jin Dahaad

Once you become familiar with the map and its features, the fight becomes much more manageable. For players unfamiliar with Jin Dahaad or the arena, however, it can present significant challenges.
The monster’s body is covered in ice-producing ridges, which serve both as defense and offense. These ridges are vulnerable to Cut and Blunt damage, and destroying them will weaken the creature, opening up opportunities to attack. But it’s Jin Dahaad’s Crystallize move that truly makes it terrifying. When hit by this attack, especially in its Tempered form, it’s essentially a one-shot kill, making it a crucial moment to avoid at all costs.
Jin Dahaad also has the ability to inflict Iceblight and Frostblight, both of which can drain your stamina and freeze you in place, respectively. To manage this, you’ll need items like Nulberry and Cleanser, or better yet, increase your Ice Resistance and Blight Resistance to make the fight easier.
The battle against Jin Dahaad is intense, with attacks like Freezing Breath and Freezing Jet that can cause widespread damage and inflict Frostblight. However, the arena’s environmental traps provide opportunities to turn the tide in your favor. You can use the destructible boulders to deal massive damage or as cover from his larger-scale attacks. Though Jin Dahaad’s moves are powerful, his predictable patterns and the map’s resources give hunters who are familiar with the terrain a strategic advantage.
4. Uth Duna
Uth Duna is a powerful fat aquatic lizard that feeds on the Scarlet Forest. This creature, often encountered during the downpour, is protected by a water-absorbing veil that not only absorbs attacks but also adds weight, making its body slams and wave attacks even more destructive. However, once this veil is removed, Uth Duna becomes more agile and aggressive, raising the stakes significantly.
The fight is further complicated by Uth Duna’s unique water-based attacks, such as the Twisted Body Slam and Underwater Dive. Both create large AoE waves of water that deal significant damage, but they are dodgeable with quick evasion or the use of Wedge Beetles to gain some vertical space. In its tempered version, he is likely to two-shot you with any of its attacks.
When it comes to dealing damage, Uth Duna’s Forelegs and Head are key weak spots, with the head being particularly vulnerable to Blunt damage. Using Thunder Ammo or Thunder Pods is also effective against Uth Duna’s elemental weakness to Thunder. Managing Waterblight is also critical, as it slows stamina recovery, but this can be countered with Nulberry, Water Resistance, or Blight Resistance.
Additionally, the Scarlet Forest arena has destructible environmental traps specifically made to counter Uth Duna (just like Jin Dahaads arena). As Uth Duna moves through the water, these traps can be triggered to collapse on the monster. Successfully hitting Uth Duna with one of these traps forces it out of the water early, preventing it from continuing its path or performing a devastating wave attack.
3. Rey Dau
Residing in the Windward Plains, Rey Dau has adapted to the Sandtide and uses the intense storms to amplify its already deadly Thunder-based attacks. This territorial creature will attack any intruders on sight, making it a highly aggressive and unpredictable foe. Its ability to store, amplify, and discharge lightning makes every move potentially lethal.
Tempered Rey Dau’s most dangerous ability is its Lightning Burst which can one-shot hunters if you’re not careful. The Lightning Burst can be used while Rey Dau is flying or on the ground, and while it’s not too complicated to dodge, it requires good reaction time to avoid the lethal burst.
In addition, be wary of Rey Dau’s arm attacks, such as Earth Slice and Arm Sweep. While Earth Slice is relatively easier to dodge, Arm Sweep is much more challenging to avoid and can catch you off guard.
Rey Dau’s ability to generate fulgurite from its wings and tail further amplifies its threat. When Rey Dau’s charged appendages touch the ground, the resulting fulgurite increases its attack range and charging capacity. Breaking these appendages is crucial to limiting Rey Dau's offensive capabilities. After it discharges electricity, its head becomes vulnerable, offering an opening for hunters to land powerful blows.
Rey Dau is weak to both Water and Ice, so weapons with these elements are particularly effective. Using Water Ammo or Ice Pods can significantly increase your damage output, and skills like Critical Element and Charge Master can further enhance elemental attacks.
Unlike most monsters, Rey Dau is immune to Shock Traps, so if you want to capture it, you'll need to use Pitfall Traps, which take longer to set up but are effective in immobilizing this powerful wyvern.

Residing across all five biomes, Tempered Arkveld, the monster on the game’s box art, is a legendary flying wyvern once thought extinct. For the safest and most reliable approach, always trap first.

* Tranq bombs (Sleep Herb + Parashroom): These are throwable tranquilizers used to put a monster to sleep. However, Tranq Bombs alone won't immobilize a monster. They must be used in combination with traps for successful capturing. Tranq Bombs can also be turned into Tranq Ammo and Tranq Blade for different weapon types.
* Shock traps (Trap Tool + Thunderbug Capacitor): These quick-setup electric traps immobilize most monsters for a brief period, usually around 8-10 seconds. Their rapid deployment makes them perfect for capturing fast or aggressive monsters on the fly.
* Pitfall traps (Trap Tool + Net): Slightly slower to deploy, Pitfall Traps create a hidden pit that traps monsters for a longer duration compared to Shock Traps. However, when hunting specific monster that are resistant or immune to electricity, Pitfall Traps are your only option.
How to effectively farm Tranq Bombs, Shock Traps, and Pitfall Traps in MH Wilds
1. Maximizing your farming efficiency
Before setting out to farm, you'll want to maximize the amount of materials you can gather per run. Specifically, you're aiming to collect Sleep Herbs, Parashrooms, Ivy, Spider Webs, and Thunderbugs. Remember, Trap Tools can be infinitely purchased at your base camp, so there's no need to farm these.
To optimize your gathering efficiency, you'll want the Botanist skill at Level 4. Here's how the Botanist skill enhances your material collection:
* Level 1: Gather one extra consumable herb per collection.
* Level 2: Additionally, gather one extra consumable fruit, nut, or seed per collection.
* Level 3: Additionally, gather one extra consumable insect per collection.
* Level 4: Additionally, gather one extra consumable mushroom per collection.
Having Botanist Level 4 directly increases your yields of Sleep Herbs, Parashrooms, Ivy, and Spider Webs. Without the skill active, you normally collect:
* 2x Sleep Herbs
* 2x Parashrooms
* 2x Ivy
* 1x Spider Web
With Botanist Level 4, you’ll gain an additional +1 item per gather, significantly boosting your overall material yield each time you farm.
2. How to best farm Tranq Bombs
Tranq Bombs are crafted from two items: Sleeping Herbs and Parashrooms. To farm these items effectively, you will need access to both Windward Plains and the Scarlet Forest.
To farm Sleeping Herbs, set up a pop-up camp at “Area 10: Southeast.” Be careful when setting up here, as large monsters often patrol the area and can destroy your camp. Once you arrive at Area 10: Southeast, you will find three different Sleeping Herb plants available for farming. To the left of the pop-up camp is a small cliff overlooking the river; head to the edge of the cliff where you will see two Sleeping Herb plants that you can easily obtain using your grappling hook. After collecting these, head north to grab the final Sleeping Herb.
In the Scarlet Forest, set up a pop-up camp at “Area 8: South Campsite.” Just outside the camp, you will find three Parashrooms. Once you collect these shrooms, quickly return to Windward Plains to farm more Sleeping Herbs, and repeat the process.
This method is the fastest way to farm materials for Tranq Bombs. Each run takes about one to one and a half minutes and yields 9 Sleeping Herbs and 9 Parashrooms, which is enough to craft 9 Tranq Bombs. Remember that the collectible items have a cooldown time of over 10 minutes, but leaving the area—such as moving from Windward Plains to the Scarlet Forest—will reset the timer.
3. How to best farm Shock Traps
Shock Traps are easier to farm because the Trap Tool component required to make them can be purchased from a vendor at Base Camp, meaning you only need to farm Thunderbugs. Thunderbugs are scattered throughout Windward Plains, but they are most commonly found in Area 1 near Base Camp. Leave Base Camp and ride into Area 1 to start collecting the bugs using your grappling hook.
Alternatively, for an even more efficient run, you can increase the number of Thunderbugs by venturing into Windward Plains when Rey Dau is present and a huge sandstorm is occurring. During a sandstorm, the number of Thunderbugs essentially doubles, and Great Thunderbugs also appear; catching them automatically grants you a Shock Trap.
This run takes about 5-7 minutes, and you can collect around 8 Thunderbugs in a regular run or over 15 during a sandstorm.
4. How to best farm Pitfall Traps
Pitfall Traps are more complicated to farm than Shock Traps because you need to gather two crafting items—Spider Web and Ivy—instead of one. The best way to farm Ivy is to head to the Scarlet Forest and set up a pop-up camp at “Area 18: West.” Just outside the camp, you will find two Ivy plants, which yield a total of 6 Ivies.
For Spider Webs, there are two methods available in the Scarlet Forest. The first method is to set up a pop-up camp at “Area 7: Bower of the Great Tree Campsite” and then head straight to the spider den to collect 3 Spider Webs. The second method is to start from Base Camp and take the long way to the spider den; along the way, you can collect an additional 2 Spider Webs, making for a total haul of 5 Spider Webs (which equals 15 Webs total with Level 3 Botanist skill).
This run lasts about 3–5 minutes, and you can obtain 6 Pitfall Traps (Option 1) or 6 Pitfall Traps along with 9 extra Spider Webs left over (Option 2).
