Most often, when a webcam is showing your image upside down, it is due to a device driver that is incompatible with your computer's operating system. Updating or changing the driver is your best solution you can try.

Before you start changing the drivers for your webcam, it's best to make sure that the drivers are actually the issue. You can check to see how your webcam is working with a simple site like TestWebCam.com that will look at the raw footage from your webcam. If the image is still inverted there, you should look into the settings for your camera -- usually located in the Control Panel -- to see if there is an inversion or image flipping option. If there isn't, or your webcam doesn't have a Control Panel settings icon, then you probably need to change the drivers.

If you recently updated your computer, the new drivers might be causing problems with your webcam. You can roll back the drivers to an earlier version to see if that affects a change in your virtual orientation. Access the Device Manager in your computer's Control Panel -- a quick way to get there is to press the Windows Key and type "Device Manager." Your camera will be listed under Imaging Devices. Double-click the name of your camera to open the Properties window. Click on the "Driver" tab and, if you have a previous driver, you can click on the "Roll Back Driver" button to return to your last driver.

If rolling back the drivers doesn't work, or if you don't have any previous drivers to roll back to, you'll need to update the drivers. If you click on the "Update Driver" button in the camera's properties in the Device Manager, you will be presented with two options: Search or Browse for the driver. Start with searching for the driver to let Windows search online for the best fit for your webcam. It can take a few minutes for the search to complete. If it finds a driver, follow the on-screen instructions to install it. If it doesn't find a driver you'll need to go hunting yourself. Start with the Acer Support website.

Use the name "Crystal Eye" of your webcam as a starting point. Search for Acer's Crystal Eye webcam driver from Internet and download that driver and install it to your computer. You'll probably have to restart once the installation is complete for your webcam image to be right-side up again.

Check for an outdated webcam driver

Select the Start button, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the search results.
Find your webcam under Imaging devices or Sound, video and game controllers.
Press and hold (or right-click) the name of your webcam, and then select Properties.
Select the Driver tab, select the Driver Details button, and look for a file name that includes stream.sys. If it’s there, your webcam was designed before Windows 7 and you'll have to replace it with a newer webcam.
If you don't find a file name that includes stream.sys, try rolling back your webcam driver.

    Roll back your webcam driver

In Device Manager, press and hold (or right-click) your webcam, and then select Properties.
Select the Driver tab, select Roll Back Driver, and then choose Yes. (Note that some drivers don’t provide a rollback option.)
After the rollback is complete, restart your PC, and then try opening the Camera app again.
If rolling back didn’t work or isn’t available, uninstall your webcam driver and scan for hardware changes.

Uninstall your webcam driver and scan for hardware changes

In Device Manager, press and hold (or right-click) your webcam, and then select Properties.
Select the Driver tab, select Uninstall > Delete the driver software for this device, and then select OK.
In Device Manager, on the Action menu, select Scan for hardware changes. Wait for it to scan and reinstall updated drivers, restart your PC, and then try opening the Camera app again.
Or try to update the BIOS.
