My Aspire R5-571T worked just fine for almost a year. But, late last year, it started 'pausing', where nothing worked, for 10-15-20 seconds, then attempt to catch up on all the mouse movement and clicks. Got to point that I did a reset on the system. And, for a couple of months, the laptop worked fine. But, now, it has started it again, with evermore frequency. Looking in Task Manager, when pause happens, Chrome, Firefox, Outlook or whatever I'm using turns red and says (Not Responding). When it first started, it was once every couple of hours, now it's once every couple of minutes. What I see is Drive activity goes to 100% during the occurrences, but that may be a red herring, byproduct of hanging app. The laptop is not hooked up to anything but a mouse, and disconnecting it makes no difference.
I turned off Fast Start in the Power Settings, but that didn't make any difference.
Any help would be appreciated!! To the point of chunking it into the trash.
