Aspire Switch 12 (SW5-271) : keyboard not charging
Hello,
I bought this hybrid laoptop on Janaury 2015.
I already experienced the keyboard disconnection issue (solved by using Bind utility software, and later a software track issue solved by the after-sales in August 2015).
Since then, no issues with the device, till earlier this month.
3 weeks ago, the keyboard started blinking in orange (as usual), I plugged the keyboard in the rear connector for the night as i used to do.
Next day, the keyboard was still not charged (no orange nor blue lights when turning on/off), I tried to bind it via the tool, blow on the connectors, check software issues on drivers... in vain.
- one week later, the keyboard blinked suddenly in orange, I plugged it , same results.
- a few days later, the keyboard blinked suddenly in orange, I plugged it , YES!! It did charge this time.
- some days later, the keyboard started blinking in orange, I plugged it without waiting for it to be completely disconnected, The next day, it was not working anymore (no lights).
Sometimes, when I try to clean the connectors in both sides and/or hit slightly the keyboard or try to press a lot of keys, it can randomly (but rarely) start to blink in orange. I can't tell the real link.
Can anyone give any explanations or suggestions?
- Is it the battery of the keyboard? maybe, but I used to let it it disconnected and to charge it rarely (only when blinking in orange). Really no over-charging behaviour. Can the battery level be tested when the keyboard is connected?
- Is it one of the connectors? how to tell? (N.B : the middle connector on the keyboard is shorter than the 2 others, is that normal?)
A short-circuit in one of the keys? trackpad?
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Regards
