Factory Reset different from out of the box

I performed a factory reset using the Acer Care Center Recovery Management utility.  I tried it twice.  Once with it directly erasing the hard disk and the other way that just does what might be called a quick format.  Both times it does not install all the programs that appears bundled with the laptop out of the box.  Not that I want them, but it bothers me that they are missing as a sign of something more serious.  It kind bugs me that the even the original desktop background is nowhere to be found.  Is this what others have experienced?  Is this what is intended by Acer's "Factory Reset"?  It does NOT return the  laptop back to the state it was in when you first turn it on out of the box.

Try to do a restore using the hidden recovery partition from Acer!

To do this, press the f2 key when turning on the notebook and turn on the d2drecovery function; then press f10 to save on exit and immediately press alt + f10! You should see a screen with several options!
