Hinge Problems

Hello, almost a year ago I bought the second laptop I've ever owned in my lifetime - an Acer ES-15. It was within my price range, and had decent specs for me to splurge on it without feeling too guilty.

It's worked fantastic up until about...ohh you know, ten minutes ago when the ***** ***** left hinge on it cracked open, and now I can't shut my laptop. I have a few things to say about this, but mostly my main question is WHAT THE *****. Look, I'm ***** broke. I bought this because my previous laptop broke (the screen shattered) and, I went to Acer as a brand I trusted - my previous laptop lasted almost 5 years. I was lucky I guess?

Anyways, onto my current laptop, I don't understand why this problem is happening. I have been very gentle with it, and haven't dropped it or anything as I know this isn't a ***** cheap thing to invest in. There was literally no reason why it should be breaking right now, and honestly, I'm confused.

I've read up on back logs, and I've noticed this seems to be a frequent problem with my model and I am in ***** shock. I'm livid. I honestly wouldn't have spend so much money for a piece of garbage like this had I known it had these problems. I need this laptop to be able to pay my bills. I am living in near poverty and I'm in debt and honestly at a loss for what to do at this point. I know this whole planned obsolescence is a thing now, and honestly I'm ***** sick of it. I can't afford anything right now, and my laptop is my only lifeline to paying my bills on time as well as being in contact with my family.

I would like to speak with someone to help me work out this problem to see if there is anything I can do to fix it that won't drive me further into debt.

I'm ***** sick of this *****, please give me some straight answers @acer because I am struggling enough as it is and need to get this sorted ASAP.

Thank you.

    hi @brokeaf

Its sad to hear on what happened. Since, this is a hardware issue and happened without any external force. So, this could be a manufacturer defect also. i would suggest you to contact acer customer support and check if the device can be serviced. Im sure Acer would honor the warranty.
