Hello Acer community. I recenly bought an Aspire ZC-700 All in one, without HDD and ODD, (First picture is my computer)
I want to connect a sata HDD to make the computer functionable, but the signal Sata cable (Yellow arrow picture 2 is from the internet) is smaller than normal and I cannot connect a sata 3 HDD. In the picture 3, I shown you the difference between normal Sata cable and the cable from my ZC-700. What are the red cables? They can help me connect my HDD to the motherboard? Can you tell me the codes or the names to that cables or adaptors, I want to order them.
Many thanks and kind regards!

Hi,
The red cable is the HDD SATA cable, it connects at blue colour connector in the motherboard, white connector is for power cable(black in the snip), one of the power cable connects to HDD and the other to ODD, I think the small power connector(yellow arrow in your pic 2) connects to ODD power and the other larger connector for HDD.
To summarise:
Black cable in your second picture is for power supply to HDD and ODD. That cable connects to white connector in the motherboard.
Red colour SATA cable for HDD connects to blue colour connector in the motherboard.
Part number for red HDD SATA cable: 50.SZ9D5.001

Hi,
I don't think you can install a Windows 7, it may not be compatible, you could try installing Windows 8/8.1 after downloading the image from Microsoft, then use the Microsoft Update assistant to update to Windows 10.

Hello brummyfan2 and thank you for you reply. I tried with 2 hdd, but I have problems. I tried with a HDD with installed windows, when it loading is freezing (Windows 10). I tried with a HDD with Windows 7 Installed but when appears the logo and loading, is getting restarted. So, in the Bios is ok, the HDD is recognised, I formated the HDD, I installed a windows 10, but, after installing, when is saying "Preparing resources", the screen freeze and no other thing is happpeing. If I try to install Windows 7 I am getting blue screeen.
