Hello,

I bought this laptop 5 months ago, it came pre-installed with EndlessOS, I installed W10 with no problem, it worked great until few weeks ago when windows become slow, I tried to speed up but with no luck. Yesterday after a restart the loading screen with the Acer logo has become very slow ~1 minute and ~1 minute to get to the windows desktop.
After that i reinstated the W10 using Media Creation Tool but the loading screen time didn't change is still takes ~2 minutes to boot.

System configuration:

  • Windows 10 PRO 64 bit
  • Intel® Core™ i5-7200U 2.5GHz
  • nVidia GeForce 940MX 2GB dedicated VRAM
  • 4GB DDR4 MemoryRepair W10 using USB
  • 1000GB HDD

What I tried so far:

  1. Turn on and off fast startup
  2. Repair W10 using USB
  3. Disabled all startup programs
  4. Windows Memory Diagnostics
Other Info :
  • EFI directories:  ., .., BOOT and Microsoft
  • Virtual Memory currently allocated: 2347MB - set by default ( recommended 1392)
  • Disable all visual effects
Thank you!

If system protection was enabled, Win10update should've created restore points. Check Control Panel for a restore point about the time this happened. Jack E/NJ

Thanks for your response but I don't have access to the old windows files because I formatted the C:\ during windows installation.

OK. Try re-installing Win10 with the USB stick but with no internet connection  until you can enable system protection. Jack E/NJ
