I am changing the motherboard in an Acer Aspire One ZG5. The connection that the hard drive plugs into is damaged and needs to be replaced. It appears to be soldered in. What is that connection called and where can I find one? Is there another way to connect the hard drive?

If you are replacig the motherboard, it should have a connector for hard disk. The connector for hard disk is soldered and cannot be replaced.
You have the option to install a 2GB, 4GB or 8GB SSD that supports USB or ZIF connector (PATA compatible) Interface.

If the old motherboard is working fine, try to get an SSD and use the HDD as secondary external storage. Some officially listed SSD's are listed below.
