So I had my E1-510 motherboard replaced and the function keys do different functions than displayed, for example fn+F11-F12 adjusts brightness, Home button mutes audio, pgup and pgdn adjusts volume. I'm on a fresh install of Windows 10, all drivers that I could, was installed. Launch manager doesn't work as it says my OS is not supported.

You can try to install launch mgr and other ACER apps in Win8.1 compatibility mode. The function keys were intended to function under ACER-specific Win8x versions, not Microsoft generic Win10 versions or its major updates. Jack E/NJ

Before the mainboard replacement, was Win10 originally installed during Microsoft's free downgrade period? Jack E/NJ

Well, if KB worked correctly before, it should do the same now ***if*** the mainboard and HDD are the same. Two mainboards were used in this model. Can you confirm the board part numbers were the same from the numbers in image below? Jack E/NJ

HDD is the same, and the part number of current MB is z3we3 la-a621p, couldn't find anything else on the board. And can't check the old MB as its not in my possession anymore

Please check BIOS firmware version & date and CPU Celeron number by running msinfo32.exe. Jack E/NJ

In msinfo32 system model is NC-ENTE69BM-3520, and bios version is 2.14 which is the latest one that I downloaded. And I couldnt find the CPU Celeron number.
  • Do the following: restart the notebook and press f2 to enter the BIOS; find the function key behavior and change the special key option to function key (I think that's the name) or vice versa!

That has been tried already, it just inverts the f1-f12 functions

Is there any other driver with problems (elan filter or any other driver) in the device manager?

    msinfo32>>>system model: NC-ENTE69BM-3520>>>

Please recheck this model as it seems to be a Packard-Bell flavored mainboard in which case it might explain this glitch. Jack E/NJ

If you google "NC-ENTE69BM-3520" with the quotes, drivers seem to be available for this mainboard. Some of the sites offer free scans for missing or incorrect drivers. I'd try that first. If a Packard-Bell driver doesn't resolve the issue, a Packard-Bell firmware version might but also carries a significant risk of bricking the machine. Jack E/NJ
