Can a CMOS battery cause my Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro VN7-592G laptop not to boot?

Hi everyone, I encountered a problem where my laptop would only boot with the charger and not battery alone. It then indicated that battery plugged in, not charging hence I tried everything battery replacement, flashing BIOS, battery reset etc. Someone mentioned that I take out the CMOS battery flip it and insert it back leaving over night for it to discharge. The next day my laptop was back operating as normal for almost a week until just now. When I press the power button there is no life but If I plug the charger in I see the charging indicator on but still no life. Can the CMOS battery be at fault or is this the main board?

If the CMOS battery still had significant residual voltage, the metal oxide BIOS circuits would've been reversed biased by about 3 volts. This may create pinhole hotspots in fragile ultra-thin oxide layers that eventually results the BIOS being unable to maintain even a default setting. However, even with a BIOS hardware failure, the laptop should still show some signs of life plugged in. Just to be sure it's not playing dead in some kind of hibernation state, have you tried to press and hold the power button for 5-10 seconds to make sure it's completely off then tried to turn it on again plugged in? Have you checked the bottom of the laptop for a battery reset pinhole. Unplug the charger, then gently insert a paper clip in the pinhole for 5-10 seconds, let the machine rest for a about 15 mins, then try to turn it on again plugged in. Jack E/NJ

I replaced the cmos battery its botting like normal but saying battery plugged in not charging. Now it's turning on and off by itself. I tried the pinhole reset no luck.

Can you access the BIOS menu by tapping the F2 key immediately after turning the machine on? If yes, press F9 to set BIOS defaults. Then press F10 to save settings and exit. Does it boot and stay on after doing this? Jack E/NJ

F2 back into the BIOS menu. Main tab. Make sure D2D recovery option is enabled. Save settings and exit. If it's still cycling on to off, press and hold the power button till it completely shuts off. Then turn it back on and immediately press and hold the ALT key while tapping the F10 key till a recovery screen appears as in the video below. You have a choice of re-setting the machine to factory state or refresh it while saving your personally loaded programs and files. If a factory reset fails to correct the issue, your mainboard's BIOS circuitry is probably gone. Jack E/NJ
