Hello everybody,
Yesterday I bought a Razer core X (v1), and installed inside a GeForce GTX 1080TI GAMING OC 11G connect via display port to me screen.
I connected the the Razer core X via Thunderbolt 3 to my Acer Predator G9-591, which is compatible with. I'm using Windows 10 64bits.
But currently the Thunderbolt 3 port doesn't detect the Display.
I checked on google the possible cause and I listed them below:
1: Software Thunderbolt is not up to date
2: Firmware Thunderbolt is not up to date
3: Bios is not up to date
Let's start with the Bios, I currently have BIOS Version/Date: Acer V1.11, 16-Oct-17, I check on the google and found the page for the drivers here (
https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/6370?b=1) but I don't see any new bios ? Maybe someone of you know if this is the last one available for my Laptop ?
For the Software Thunderbolt I tested to install various version as far I know some version are not compatible with eGUP, I installed version 15.x.x.x from support page, version 16.x.x.x and last version 17.x.x.x but none of them have resolved my issue.
So I tried to update Firmware ThunderBolt, for that I downloaded the version on Support page but also some newest version from Intel Site, but every one of these give me the error
"Error: 0x20B SDK_NO_CONTROLLERS - No active Thunderbolt(TM) controller found in the system or Thunderbolt(TM) software"
Here Again I checked if someone on the web get the same error as I, I founded some post and tested different scenarios (Changing version for the software, then for the firmware, then plug/unplung the thunderbolt cable). But at the end nothing as worked for me.
I'm pretty sure that I have to resolve first the issue with the firmware but also with Bios if is an update available somewhere. I don't have any other device for the Thunderbolt 3 port so I cannot exclude a port issue. But first things first.
If anyone has a tip or experience with this, I will be happy to try your solution.
If you see missing information or details feel free to ask me.
Regards,
Marco
