Hi guys.

I bought an Acer Spin 5 late last year with the aim of using it for note taking using the Acer Active Stylus that came with it. However, I have had nothing but problems with the Stylus since I bought it. It constantly cuts out in the middle of writing a sentence and sometimes will not start working again until the computer is restarted. Lately it also has started writing when it isn't touching the screen and handwriting is jerky and unresponsive. Does anyone have any idea what I could do? Would Acer replace it if I asked, or should I try and buy a different pen, such as the Wacom Bamboo Ink or something like that?

Yes I have checked the drivers for updates and replaced the batteries a couple times but this has not fixed the issue.

    Hi JackE

I can confirm that the stylus I have is the ELANtech NP.STY1A.009 model that is compatible with my SP513-52N.

Note that the Stylus also came with the laptop, I didn't buy it separately.

I suggest not wasting any more time on this if it's still under warranty. Go to this link. Have your serial number id (SNID) ready. Claim the pen simply doesn't work. Go from there. https://www.acer.com/ac/en/AU/content/support  Jack E/NJ
